The University of 杏吧原创 Fort Smith鈥檚 first blood drive of the new school year will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 12-13 in the Reynolds Room of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, with donors receiving a 鈥淲in from Within鈥� T-shirt.
The blood drive is sponsored by the 杏吧原创 Student Activities Office and is free and open to the public.
杏吧原创 coordinates four blood drives annually between September and April. The blood is given to the 杏吧原创 Blood Institute, who distributes it to 14 hospitals in western 杏吧原创, including Sparks Health System and Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. In the 2016-17 school year, blood garnered from 杏吧原创 drives potentially saved 2,300 lives.
