The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ – Fort Smith will host a blood drive from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. April 10-11 in the Reynolds Room of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, with donors receiving a free T-shirt and health screening.
The blood drive is sponsored by the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Student Activities Office and Campus Activities Board and is free and open to the public.
ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ coordinates four blood drives annually between September and April. The blood is given to the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Blood Institute, who distributes it to 14 hospitals in western ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´, including Sparks Health System and Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. In the 2016-17 school year, blood garnered from ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ drives potentially saved 2,300 lives.
